Travel Diary: Edinburgh

So myself and Jake were thinking about what Christmas market we wanted to go to last year and I had heard that Edinburgh was the place to be around Christmas time. So we booked to go for a couple of nights as the end on November.

The Edinburgh Christmas markets run throughout November - January so you have plenty of time to enjoy them!

We were pleasantly surprised by how cheap the flights were from Luton to Edinburgh airport, which made our choice for a cheap city break even more appealing, Plus it only took 45 minutes on the plane which was a bonus. By keeping the costs down we decided to stay in a Premier Inn Hub which I highly recommend.

Edinburgh in winter time is very very cold. I was not prepared to be as cold as it was. If you are also thinking of going in the colder months make sure you wrap up with a big winter coat, hats, gloves and a scarf!

I was shocked with how beautiful Edinburgh is and my picture do not do the place justice. Once getting to our hotel we decided to go and explore the Royal Mile and trek up Edinburgh Castle.

To get into Edinburgh Castle there was a charge of around £15pp. This put me off slightly put Jake persuaded me and I am so glad he did. The views were incredible and we were taken on a tour by a lovely man who taught about the history of the castle which i thoroughly enjoyed.

The atmosphere around Edinburgh was lovely, everyone was so welcoming and in the Christmas spirit.

After having some Dinner we wrapped up to go to the Christmas Market which I was so excited about. It was even better than I thought it was going to be.

They has so many food stalls, Retail stools, Rides and games. They were blasting all the best Christmas songs and people were all in good spirits.

What I loved about the market is that it wasn't all in once place. They had the main market, then The Christmas lights and separate Ice skating rinks. This made the whole city extra festive.

We didn't go Edinburgh with the purpose to shop but I would love to go back in the summer time for a shopping trip. Shopping with the views of Edinburgh Castle sounds like a great idea to me.

On the second day we wanted to see the most of Edinburgh we could so we decided to get on one of the hop on hop off tour buses. This was a brilliant idea as we were able to get to all the places we wanted to visit with an amazing tour guide telling us about the history behind Edinburgh.

On the last day we booked to go to Edinburgh. Now the main reason I wanted to go to the zoo was the fact that Edinburgh Zoo is the only zoo in the UK that has pandas... And pandas are my all time favourite animal.

As we went to the zoo on a Tuesday it was practically empty which was great as we got to see all the animals up close and at our own pace.

We waited in the freezing cold for 3 hours for the panda to come out and when he finally I was ecstatic. Look at how cute he is!

Overall I completely fell in love with Edinburgh and I cannot wait to go back one day and explore even more.

Travel Diary: Paris

So on the 5th May Jake and I traveled to Paris for my Birthday. I have always loved Paris and was desperate to visit again so i thought it would be perfect to celebrate my 19th there.
After waking up at the painful time of 5am we made our way to Luton Airport to start our journey!

After only an hour of flying we Arrived at Orly Airport, we soon hoped onto our bus and was on the way to Central Paris. The hotel we stayed in was in the Montparnasse area, right next to the train station. The location was close to the metro and bus links and was overall a nice area. Taking a left outside our hotel their is a view of the Eiffel Tower!

Don't you just love how beautiful all the buildings are!

While in Paris we mainly wanted to sight see, we decided to get onto on of the hop on hop off tour buses which we both thoroughly enjoyed which took us to all of the sights!

The Eiffel Tower is just insane...We didn't book any tickets for the Eiffel Tower and the queues were just ridiculously massive so we gave it and miss and decided we would come back in the evening to see if they were any better,

I love love love the Cafes restaurants in Paris, we were so lucky with the weather which was around 26 degrees so we were able to sit outside every time. Obviously we had to have Pizza...

So the next day we went back to the Eiffel Tower in the evening and the queues were much shorter so we decided to queue and see Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower at night time! We queued for around an hour and by the time we got to the top the sun was setting which was just perfect! Seeing Paris at night time was so beautiful. While at the Summit a man proposed to his girlfriend and the atmosphere was amazing!

We then went back down to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle which was the most magical sight ever!

Obviously while in Paris you need to have some crepes and macaroons!

We spent 4 nights in Paris and if i were to do it again I would only spend 2-3 nights as even though there is so much to see you can do it all in that time! I had the most amazing trip for my birthday and I wouldn't change any of it!

Rimmel Nail Polish

So recently I have started growing my nails out and I wanted to get myself some nice new nail polish so I wouldn't be tempted to continue in my bad habit of biting my nails. Rimmel has always been a favourite of mine for most of their range and especially in their nail polishes.

One thing I love about the Rimmel Nail Polishes is the brushes, They are thick so it makes it much easier to apply the polish. This tuff really does do what it says, it is super shiny and drys in 60 seconds which is perfect for me because I am so impatient while waiting for nail polish to dry.

I picked up three new colours, Rapid Ruby, Rain Rain Go Away and White Hot Love

.

Two of the nail polishes are the 60 second super shine and the other is a part of the Rita Ora collection, I haven't noticed any difference in the polish it self so I believe its the same Nail polish but the Rita Ora collection is just colours she picked out herself.

These are gorgeous colours and you can get away with just applying one coat of polish but I personally like to add to coats of nail polish to build the colour a bit more and I find it lasts longer.

I will definitely be picking up more of these colours as they have such a wide range and they are really inexpensive!

Let me know what your favourite colour Rimmel Nail Polish is,

Love, Meg xo

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara Review

Hello Loves,

Now I have always loved the Maybelline The Falsies mascara's so when they released the Push Up Drama Mascara I just had to get my hands on it (especially when Gigi Hadid is in the advert) I popped into my local Boots and picked it up for £5.99 as it is on offer at the moment, but the original price is retailed at £7.99 which is still a reasonable price for a mascara.

Now this mascara patterned cup shaped bristles which is designed to retain the maximum amount of product onto the brush and lift the lashes for the perfect dramatic look.

As soon as I got home I put on one coat and it is by far my new favourite mascara, it does exactly what it says on the tin, It gives you a false eyelash effect. At first because the bristles put a lot of product onto your lashes they went clumpy so with a clean mascara brush I brushed them through to spread out the product.

After applying a few coats you can definitely build it up and create really dramatic and thick eyelashes, which I love.
On the left: One coat of Maybelline Push Up Drama Mascara
On right: One coat of Maybelline Sensational Maraca

As you can see there is a huge difference!

This is now my all time favourite mascara and you should go pick it up and try it out for yourselves.
